Beyond the town still toss the stormy seas
Where glows the ember of the setting sun,
Where nature rules, its struggles never done
And elementals bend the stubborn trees.
Within, reflections on the waters dance,
The evening breezes carry faint perfumes;
In many a garden stand the sleeping blooms,
And darkly loom the silhouettes of plants.
An island lady, gentle harbor queen
Aglow with twinkling waves against the night
When red & gold replace the sturdy green
And unabashed a thousand garlands light;
The mournful train reluctant leaves the scene
And visitors stand spellbound at the sight.
